DES/DX Dedicated Outside Air (O/A) Models
The DES/DX units are configured with staged compressors to process 100% O/A.  Make-up air is efficiently dehumidified prior to entering the space.  Outside air is pre-cooled and dehumidified through a series of refrigeration circuits prior to entering the desiccant wheel.  The desiccant wheel provides additional dehumidification (up to 22 gr/lb further reduction) while returning the air temperature back to space neutral conditions (but much lower %RH).  Again, waste heat from the refrigeration circuit is used to reactivate the desiccant wheel.

• Much lower supply air dewpoints are achievable with the DES/DX 100% O/A system than conventional systems.

Dedicated Outside Air Models with Energy Recovery (ERV)
The DES/DX with ERV includes an energy recovery wheel to exchange enthalpy between the exhaust and the outside air prior to the pre-cooling coil.  Incorporating the ERV into the DES/DX system tempers the outside air, eliminating significant compressor tonnage and thereby reducing the overall energy consumption considerably.
